In front of us we can see a wedding. It is nothing else but bourgeois wedding, in which the fiancé Stasik Marhotsky and his fiancée Nata Marhotskaya-Lifshits have joined in holy matrimony and are happily meeting the guests. Let us say so, that the things Ellochka Shchukina was trying to put in «the Twelve Chairs» - in the «strong Feeling» blossoms in the magnificent blossoming. Everything is striking and prodigious here, but especially - the great craft, even more, it is inherent talent «to live and have fun in a foreign way». Though funny it is, but this play becomes very actual nowadays as well.

This is the story of the soviet official Egor Karlovich Filyurin, the citizen of the provincial town of Pishcheslav, who became invisible. It happens so because of the invention of the «local Kulibin» Babsky. Having washed with the soap from the freckles, made by Babsky, Filyurin really does not have any freckles any more, but they escape together with his sinful body. Having none of the desire to do it, Filyurin becomes the real «conscience of the whole city».
