Chapter 3, "The Radiology of Prosthetic Heart Valves," we feel will be particularly helpful to the physician in identifying a prosthetic valve and revealing the most likely complica­ tions. Este libro analiza la importancia del periódico de la División Azul –la Hoja de Campaña (HC)– desde múltiples puntos de vista. A través de sus contenidos observamos la motivación, ideología y fobias del contingente, así como su visión del discurrir de la guerra y la representación que sus miembros tenían de sí mismos y de los demás. La HC supuso un refuerzo práctico a las necesidades del combatiente español en el frente ruso, con información sobre cómo debía hacer la guerra. Su objetivo también fue constituirse en una actividad de ocio a través de la lectura, distrayendo de las terribles condiciones del Este. Así, es posible acercarse a las inquietudes de una generación de jóvenes con cierto gusto por los libros, el cine, el fútbol o los toros, además del humor, materias siempre presentes en la Hoja de Campaña. La HC siempre ayudó a que persistiera entre los combatientes un espíritu de lucha y de esperanza, en contra incluso de lo que cualquier observador imparcial veía perdido ya en el invierno de 1942.
