In this rapidly moving area, "Image Processing, Analysis and Machine Vision" gives details of the recent developments in the field, as well as up-to-date and comprehensive coverage of all aspects of the subject. Based on the original book published in Czech, this English edition has been considerably expanded to include 3D vision, neural networks and invariants. Further algorithms, diagrams and an up-to-date bibliography have been added to make this book useful reading for students and professionals involved in computer vision. This book should be of interest to undergraduates, graduate students and professionals.

The British Machine Vision Association was formed in 1990, with the aim of promoting the knowledge of machine vision, image processing and pattern recognition in the UK. Its members are drawn from a wide range of academic, industrial and professional disciplines, and include physicists, engineers, computer scientists and psychologists. Its annual conferences provide a national forum at which research into the theory, technology and application of these areas can be presented and debated. This volume contains the papers presented at the 1992 conference. Among the topics covered are: image processing and feature extraction; object recognition and scene analysis; reconstruction of 3D shapes; advanced pattern analysis; computational issues in perception; robotic vision and sensor fusion; practical applications; model-based coding; architectures; active vision; motion analysis and neural networks.
