Russell Hayesis a freelance writer with a broad motoring background in magazines, televisionand books. Aston Martin is one of his specialist subjects and with thistwo-volume masterwork he achieves a long-held ambition to write the completehistory of the company and its cars, following on from a previous book aboutthe V8 models from 1969 to 2000 (Palawan, 2019). His other books includehistories of Alpine, Lotus and TVR, and close-up studies of the Volkswagen Golfand Ford Cortina. Between 2003 and 2019 his writing became a spare-timeactivity while he pursued a different career path in the press offices of theCrown Prosecution Service, the Attorney General’s Office and the High Court’sJudicial Office. He lives in London.
