Kelley, PhD, is professor and director of the graduate program, Department of Sociology, Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio.Linda M. Chatters, PhD, FGSA, FAASWSW, is a professor in the Department of Health Behavior and Health Education, School of Public Health and professor in the School of Social Work at the University of Michigan. She is a faculty associate with the Program for Research on Black Americans at the Institute for Social Research and the Center for Research on Ethnicity, Culture and Health.
