Sport, Higher Education and Critical Pedagogies

Hanya Pielichaty is a Professor of Sport, Gender and Inclusive Education at the University of Lincoln, UK. She is a National Teaching Fellow (NTF), Principal Fellow (PFHEA) and founder of the Critical Pedagogies in Sport international network.Philippa Velija is a Professor of Sociology and Interim Dean of School of Education at the University of Roehampton. Her research focuses on sociological approaches to understanding inequalities in sport and leisure.Catherine Phipps is a Senior Lecturer in Sport Management at the University of Portsmouth, UK. Her research centres around gender issues and LGBTQ+ inclusion in the sport and physical education contexts.Nik Dickerson is a Lecturer in the Cultural Studies of Sport at Loughborough University, UK. His work explores representations of Black masculinity and national identity within sport media and other forms of popular culture. He is interested in how decolonial theoretical frameworks and methodologies can help us know Blackness outside the binary of victims or resistors of racism.
