"Kathryn Fishman-Weaver's latest book offers engaging and practical lessons for educators. If you are looking for a thought-provoking yet positive guide to sustainability and justice that will spark students' curiosity and interest, I warmly recommend Action Research in the High School Classroom. " Chris Spence, co-editor and author of Heroes of Environmental Diplomacy (2022) and Political Heroes of the Environment (forthcoming), USA“Action Research in the High School Classroom brings authentic purpose to curriculum by providing real-world learning experiences. Intentionally designed lesson plans explore cross-curricular standards and critical readings from respected researchers, while developing students' higher-order thinking skills through projects that connect content to community in powerful ways.”Dr. Andrew D. McCarthy, Principal of Raytown High School, Raytown, MO, USA“This book is it! In such a pressurized field, it is incredibly helpful to have resources that support authentic teaching and learning, that is student centered. Equally as important is to be able to have resources that are practical and speak to teachers in the classroom. I can't wait to use the gems contained in Action Research in the High School Classroom with my students! Go and read it!”Nancy Lopez-Schreiber, Secondary Educator, USA“Dr. Fishman-Weaver delivers a unique combination of textbook and lab manual brought to life through beautiful, inspiring, and authentic storytelling that makes the reader passionate about learning! I fully agree with Dr. Fishman-Weaver that this book is a gift to all of us - and to me, it is the best type of gift of all as by receiving it, ingraining it, and then living it, you will find that you have even more to give to others and to our world as we work together for the sustainability, justice, and impact that only the power of education can provide!”Jimi Cook, Professor, Author, Lifelong Learner, and Co-founder and Co-director of Be The Change Volunteers, USA
