Ageing and Technology

Ageing and technology are shaping each other in profound ways, yet they are often treated as separate in current thinking. This book brings social gerontology into conversation with Science and Technology Studies (STS) to show how ageing and technology are co-constituted. Drawing on empirical cases from everyday life, design and policy, it explores how ageing–technology relations emerge, are taken up and are governed. The book offers a comprehensive framework for research on ageing and technology, while also highlighting opportunities for socially informed, inclusive approaches to technological innovation in ageing societies.
