Contemporary Issues in Victimology

Carly M. Hilinski-Rosick is assistant professor of criminology and criminal justice at the University of Tampa.Daniel R. Lee is professor of criminology and criminal justice at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Each of the 11 essays in this book of readings provides a review and update of a specific area of victimology. The content is arranged in two broad areas: one focuses on types of victims (elders, same sex, children), the other on types of contexts in which victimization occurs (e.g., college campuses). The chapters include some areas that are not commonly investigated, such as victimization in corrections, and relatively new areas, such as cybercrime. On the whole, the chapters are independent, well written, and well referenced. The authors have experience with or published in the areas they review. . . The reading level is within the reach of undergraduate students.
