The integration of technology into the higher education sector advanced slowly through the first two decades of the 21st century. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, however, faculty around the world were forced to rapidly adopt a wide assortment of technologies to virtually connect with their students. Almost immediately, many faculty began to experiment with online learning tools and practices to improve the efficacy of their teaching. These experiments produced many lessons.
