An affinity for spiders and their webs Since 2006, Tomás Saraceno has been collaborating with spiders and their webs, a research that has unfolded into a wide variety of formats and modalities. These range from large-scale installations and environments, conceived for people to occupy and traverse, to concerts, to the creation of an arachnophilia community that brings together experts from various areas and traditions of knowledge, and to the presentation of the material and immaterial reverberations of spiders, from the webs (which numerous studies argue that it is an extension of the spider’s sensory and also cognitive systems), to the contributes that spiders have been giving to divination processes in certain communities.
