This book is based on the 9th International Conference in Methodologies and Intelligent Systems for Technology Enhanced Learning, which was hosted by the University of Salamanca and held in Ávila (Spain) from 26th to 28th June 2019. Expanding on the topics of the evidence-based TEL workshops series, it provides an open forum for discussing intelligent technologies for learning.  In particular, it discusses recommendation mechanisms that enable us to tailor learning to different contexts and people, e.g., by considering their personality; and learning analytics that help augment learning opportunities, e.g., by supporting the adaptation of the learning material. In addition to technologies, it covers methods from different fields, such as educational psychology or medicine, and from diverse communities co-working with people, such as making communities and participatory design communities to help create novel TEL opportunities. Further it describes the use of methods and technologies to investigate and enhance learning for “fragile users”, like children, the elderly and those with special needs. This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-workshop proceedings of the 4th International Symposium, SETE 2019, held in conjunction with ICWL 2019, in Magdeburg, Germany, in September 2019.

The 10 full and 6 short papers presented together with 24 papers from 5 workshops were carefully reviewed and selected from 34 submissions. The papers cover the latest findings in various areas, such as: virtual reality and game-based learning; learning analytics; K-12 education; language learning; design, model and implementation of e-learning platforms and tools; digitalization and industry 4.0; pedagogical issues, practice and experience sharing.

This book features papers from workshops at the 10th International Conference on Methodologies and Intelligent Systems for Technology Enhanced Learning, which was hosted by the University of L''Aquila (Italy) from 17th to 19th June 2020. 

The workshops provided participants with the opportunity to present and discuss novel research ideas on emerging topics complementing the main conference. They particularly focused on multi-disciplinary and transversal aspects such as TEL in nursing education programs, social and personal computing for web-supported learning communities, interactive environments and emerging technologies for eLearning, and TEL for future citizens.

Together for the ICWL 2020 Conference and SETE 2020 Symposium 39 full papers were accepted together with 31 short papers out of 233 submissions. The papers focus on the following subjects:  Semantic Web for E-Learning, through Learning

Analytics, Computer-Supported Collaborative Learning, Assessment, Pedagogical Issues, E-learning Platforms, and Tools, to Mobile Learning and much more.

State-of-the-art and novel methodologies and technologies allow researchers, designers, and domain experts to pursue technology-enhanced learning (TEL) solutions targeting not only cognitive processes but also motivational, personality, or emotional factors. The International Conference in Methodologies and Intelligent Systems for Technology-Enhanced Learning (MIS4TEL''21) is hosted by the University of Salamanca and was held in Salamanca (Spain) from October 6–8, 2021. The annual appointment of MIS4TEL established itself as a consolidated fertile forum where scholars and professionals from the international community, with a broad range of expertise in the TEL field, share results and compare experiences. The calls for papers of the 11th edition of the conference welcomed novel research in TEL and expands on the topics of the previous editions: It solicited work from new research fields (ranging from artificial intelligence and agent-based systems to robotics, virtual reality, Internet of things and wearable solutions, among others) concerning methods and technological opportunities, and how they serve to create novel approaches to TEL, innovative TEL solutions, and valuable TEL experiences.

This volume constitutes the proceedings of the 18th International Conference on Intelligent Tutoring Systems, ITS 2022, held in Bucharest, Romania, in June 2022.

The 14 full papers, 13 short papers and 11 poster papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 50 submissions.

The papers are categorized into the following topical sub-headings: Tools and Methods for learning Sciences and Practices; Algorithms for Prediction, Recommendation and Classification in Learning Systems; Tutoring and Learning Systems: New Approaches, Framework and Theories.

The 12th International Conference in Methodologies and Intelligent Systems for Technology Enhanced Learning was hosted by the University of L''Aquila and was held in L''Aquila (Italy) from July 13 to 15, 2022. The conference has established itself as a consolidated fertile forum where scholars and professionals from the international community, with a broad range of expertise in the TEL field, share results and compare experiences

Technologies in TEL are capable of delivering smart, personalized, tailored, and motivating learning solutions. Methods are coming from different fields, such as education, psychology, medicine, computer science, and from diverse communities, where collaboration and co-working are used.

This book constitutes the proceedings of the 16th International Conference on Web-Based Learning, ICWL 2017, held in Cape Town, South Africa, in September 2017. The 13 revised full papers presented together with 9 short papers and 3 poster papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 56 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on Inquiry-Based Learning and Gamification; Learning Analytics; Social Media and Web 2.0-based Learning Environments; Assessment and Accessibility in Higher Education; Open Educational Resources and Recommender Systems; and Practice and Experience Sharing.

This book gathers contributions to the 3rd International Conference on Smart Learning Ecosystems and Regional Developments (SLERD 2018), held at Aalborg University, Denmark on 23–25 May 2018.

What characterizes smart learning ecosystems? What is their role in city and regional development and innovation? How can we promote citizen engagement in smart learning ecosystems? These are some of the questions addressed at SLERD 2018 and documented in these proceedings, which include a diverse range of papers intended to help understand, conceive, and promote innovative human-centric design and development methods, education/training practices, informal social learning, and citizen-driven policies.

This book presents the outcomes of the 8th International Conference in Methodologies and Intelligent Systems for Technology Enhanced Learning held in Toledo (Spain) hosted by the University of Castilla-La Mancha from 20 th to 22nd June 2018. Further expanding the topics of the previous editions, the conference provided an open forum for discussing intelligent systems for technology enhanced learning (TEL) and their roots in novel learning theories, empirical methodologies for their design or evaluation, stand-alone and web-based solutions and maker spaces, and also fostering entrepreneurship and increasing business startup ideas. It brought together researchers and developers from industry, the education field and the academic world to report on the latest scientific research, technical advances and methodologies.
