Cyberbullying is one of the darker and more troubling aspects to the growing accessibility of new media technologies. Children in developed countries engage with cyberspace at younger and younger ages, and the use of the internet as a means to bully and harass has been greeted with alarm by educationalists, parents, the media, and governments. Mobbing stellt an Schulen ein weit verbreitetes Problem dar. Dieses Buch liefert zum einen aktuelle Erklärungsansätze für das Phänomen Mobbing an Schulen. Es wird aufgezeigt, dass Mobbing nicht nur zwischen Opfern und Tätern stattfindet, sondern dass in der Regel alle Mitglieder einer Schulklasse beteiligt sein können. Entsprechend wird beschrieben, welche Folgen Mobbing für alle Beteiligte haben kann.  Zum anderen werden allgemeine Präventions- und Interventionsansätze beschrieben sowie elf Anti-Mobbing-Programme detailliert vorgestellt. Einen besonderen Fokus richtet das Buch auf Mobbingnachsorgekonzepte sowie praxisbezogene Exkurse von ausgewiesenen Experten.

Rassismus, also Diskriminierung von Menschen aufgrund deren vermeintlicher ethnischer Herkunft, ist an Schulen allgegenwärtig. Racism, i.e. discrimination against people on the basis of their supposed ethnic origin, is omnipresent in schools. Apart from students, trainees and teachers, all actors in the school context are affected by this topic.Why is this so? How can racist discrimination be explained? What effects does this behavior have on those affected? And how can schools counteract it? These are all questions that arise and which this book aims to answer with the intention of enabling all those acting in the school context to critically examine their own knowledge bases relevant to racism. This book contributes to the development of school as a racism-sensitive space in which all actors behave in a racism-sensitive manner.Therefore, in addition to an overview of the history of racism, approaches to explaining racist behavior and the effects of racist discrimination, prevention and intervention approaches for a practice critical of racism in schools are presented.

Bullying is a widespread problem in schools. This book provides current explanations for the phenomenon of bullying in schools. It is shown that bullying does not only take place between victims and perpetrators, but that usually all members of a school class can be involved. Accordingly, it is described what consequences bullying can have for all those involved.  Secondly, general prevention and intervention approaches are described and eleven anti-bullying programs are presented in detail. A special focus of the book is on bullying aftercare concepts as well as practice-related digressions by proven experts.

Das Buch befasst sich mit dem Umgang mit Trauer an Schulen. Es werden Trauerreaktionen von Kindern und Jugendlichen beschrieben und Trauergründe dargestellt: Tod aufgrund einer chronischen Erkrankung, plötzliche Todesfälle wie Suizid, Unfall und schwere zielgerichtete Gewalt. Entsprechende Interventionsmaßnahmen werden vorgestellt. Abschließend wird auf die Grenzen dieser Interventionsmaßnahmen in der Schule eingegangen.
