This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 21st International Conference on Big Data Analytics and Knowledge Discovery, DaWaK 2019, held in Linz, Austria, in September 2019. The 12 full papers and 10 short papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 61 submissions.

The volume LNCS 12393 constitutes the papers of the 22nd International Conference Big Data Analytics and Knowledge Discovery which will be held online in September 2020. The 15 full papers presented together with 14 short papers plus 1 position paper in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from a total of 77 submissions.  This volume offers a wide range to following subjects on theoretical and practical aspects of big data analytics and knowledge discovery as a new generation of big data repository, data pre-processing, data mining, text mining, sequences, graph mining, and parallel processing.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 345h International Conference on Conceptual Modeling, ER 2016, held in Gifu, Japan, in November 2016. The 23 full and 18 short papers presented together with 3 keynotes were carefully reviewed and selected from 113 submissions.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 22nd International Conference on Conceptual Modeling, ER 2003, held in Chicago, IL, USA in October 2003.The 38 revised full papers presented together with abstracts of 4 invited talks and 7 industrial presentations were carefully reviewed and selected from 153 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on systems and data integration; workflows, patterns, and ontologies; metamodeling and methodology; view and XQuery approaches; web application modeling and development; requirements and evolution; data warehousing and OLAP; conceptual modeling foundations; data mining; innovative approaches; queries; and schema and ontology integration.

We would like to welcome you to the proceedings of the workshops held in conjunction with the 23rd International Conference on Conceptual Modeling (ER 2004). The objective of the workshops associated with ER 2004 was to give p- ticipants the opportunity to present and discuss emerging hot topics related to conceptual modeling, thereby adding new perspectives to conceptual mod- ing. To meet the objective, we selected six workshops with topics on conceptual modelingforWebinformationintegration,digitalgovernment,GIS,changem- agement, e-business, and agent technology. Some of these workshopswere brand new while others had been held in conjunction with ER conferences as many as ?ve times. They are: 1. 1stInternationalWorkshoponConceptualModel-DirectedWebInformation Integration and Mining (CoMWIM 2004) 2. 1st International Workshop on Digital Government: Systems and Techno- gies (DGOV 2004) 3. 1st International Workshop on Conceptual Modeling for GIS (CoMoGIS 2004) 4. 3rd International Workshop on Evolution and Change in Data Management (ECDM 2004) 5. 1st International Workshop on Conceptual Modelling for Agents (CoMoA 2004) 6.5th International Workshop on Conceptual Modeling Approaches for E-Business (The Model-Driven Design Value Proposition) (eCOMO 2004) These six workshops received 38, 16, 58, 21, 17, and 13 papers, respectively. Following the philosophy of the ER workshops, the selection of contributions was very carefully carried out in order to keep the excellent standard; 13, 6, 16, 8, 7, and 6 papers were accepted by the six workshops, respectively, with acceptance rates 34%, 37%, 27%, 38%, 41%, and 46%, respectively.

We are pleased to present the proceedings of the workshops held in conjunction with ER 2005, the 24th International Conference on Conceptual Modeling. The objective of these workshops was to extend the spectrum of the main conferencebygivingparticipantsanopportunitytopresentanddiscussemerging hot topics related to conceptual modeling and to add new perspectives to this key mechanism for understanding and representing organizations, including the new “virtual” e-environments and the information systems that support them. To meet this objective, we selected 5 workshops: – AOIS 2005: 7th International Bi-conference Workshop on Agent-Oriented Information Systems – BP-UML 2005: 1st International Workshop on Best Practices of UML – CoMoGIS 2005: 2nd International Workshop on Conceptual Modeling for Geographic Information Systems – eCOMO 2005: 6th International Workshop on Conceptual Modeling - proaches for E-business – QoIS 2005: 1st International Workshop on Quality of Information Systems These 5 workshops attracted 18, 27, 31, 9, and 17 papers, respectively. F- lowing the ER workshopphilosophy, program committees selected contributions on the basis of strong peer reviews in order to maintain a high standard for accepted papers. The committees accepted 8, 9, 12, 4, and 7 papers, for acc- tance ratesof 44%,33%,39%,44%, and 41%,respectively. In total, 40 workshop papers were selected out of 102 submissions with a weighted averageacceptance rate of 40%.

This book constitutes the refereed joint proceedings of seven international workshops held in conjunction with the 25th International Conference on Conceptual Modeling, ER 2006, in Tucson, AZ, USA in November 2006. The 39 revised full papers presented together with the outlines of three tutorials were carefully reviewed and selected from 95 submissions.

Data Warehousing and Knowledge Discovery have been widely accepted as key te- nologies for enterprises and organizations to improve their abilities in data analysis, decision support, and the automatic extraction of knowledge from data. With the exponentially growing amount of information to be included in the decision-making process, the data to be processed become more and more complex in both structure and semantics. Consequently, the process of retrieval and knowledge discovery from this huge amount of heterogeneous complex data constitutes the reality check for research in the area. During the past few years, the International Conference on Data Warehousing and Knowledge Discovery (DaWaK) has become one of the most important international scientific events bringing together researchers, developers and practitioners. The DaWaK conferences served as a prominent forum for discussing latest research issues and experiences in developing and deploying data warehousing and knowledge d- covery systems, applications, and solutions. This year’s conference, the Ninth Inter- tional Conference on Data Warehousing and Knowledge Discovery (DaWaK 2007), built on this tradition of facilitating the cross-disciplinary exchange of ideas, expe- ence and potential research directions. DaWaK 2007 sought to disseminate innovative principles, methods, algorithms and solutions to challenging problems faced in the development of data warehousing, knowledge discovery and data mining applications.

This book constitutes the refereed joint proceedings of seven international workshops held in conjunction with the 27th International Conference on Conceptual Modeling, ER 2008, in Barcelona, Spain, in October 2008. The 42 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 108 submissions. Topics addressed by the workshops are conceptual modeling for life sciences applications (CMLSA 2008), evolution and change in data management (ECDM 2008), foundations and practices of UML (FP-UML 2008), modeling mobile applications and services (M2AS 2008), requirements, intentions and goals in conceptual modeling (RIGiM 2008), semantic and conceptual issues in geographic information systems (SeCoGIS 2008), and Web information systems modeling (WISM 2008).
