AI and Image illustrates the importance of critical perspectives in the study of AI and its application to image collections in the art and heritage sector. The authors' approach is that such entanglements of image and AI are neither dystopian or utopian but may amplify, reduce or condense existing societal inequalities depending on how they may be implemented in relation to human expertise and sensibility in terms of diversity and inclusion. I denna volym presenteras fem kortföreläsningar från seminariet Kyrkobyggnad och kyrkorum - forskningsfrågor som hölls på Kungl. Vitterhetsakademien i Stockholm (2012) på initiativ av Sockenkyrkonätverket och arrangerat av volymens redaktörer. Seminariet rörde kulturhistorisk forskning om kyrkobyggnader och frågor om restaurering av kyrkomiljöer under olika tider, utifrån bakomliggande teorier och ideal. De fem kapitlen i boken behandlar ett antal kyrkor i Sverige och hur restaureringar av dessa kyrkor har genomförts utifrån funktionella, kulturhistoriska och estetiska val och värden: Dalby kyrka i Skåne diskuteras med utgångspunkt i dess olika byggnadsfaser och kyrkans kulturhistoriska och funktionella värden, vidare medeltida kyrkor i övre Norrland och deras moderna historia med utgångspunkt från moderniseringen av Öjebyns kyrka, därefter 2000-talets konserverings- och restaureringsarbete med Kalmar domkyrka, restaureringar av Uppsala domkyrka från 1400-talet till 1900-talet, och slutligen arkitekten Theodor Wåhlins restaureringsarbete med Östra Ingelstads kyrka i början av 1900-talet.
