This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed short papers and workshop papers of the 19th East European Conference on Advances in Databases and Information Systems, ADBIS 2015, held in Poitiers, France, in September 2015. This book is the sixth of a running series of volumes dedicated to selected topics of information theory and practice. The objective of the series is to pro­ vide a reference source for problem solvers in business, industry, government, and professional researchers and gradute students. The first volume, Handbook on Architecture of Information Systems, presents a balanced number of contributions from academia and practition­ ers. The structure of the material follows a differentiation between model­ ing languages, tools and methodologies. The second volume, Handbook on Electronic Commerce, examines electronic commerce storefront, on-line busi­ ness, consumer interface, business-to-business networking, digital payment, legal issues, information product development and electronic business mod­ els. The third volume, Handbook on Parallel and Distributed Processing, presents basic concepts, methods, and recent developments in the field of parallel and distributed processing as well as some important aplications of parallel and distributed computing. In particular, the book examines such fundamental issues in the above area as languages for parallel processing, parallel operating systems, architecture of parallel and distributed systems, parallel database and multimedia systems, networking aspects of parallel and distributed systems, efficiency of parallel algorithms. The fourth volume on Information Technologies for Education and Training is· devoted to a pre­ sentation of current and future research and applications in the field of ed­ ucational technology. The fifth double volume on Knowledge Management contains an extensive, fundamental coverage of the knowledge management field.

The papers presented in this book were take from the 2nd East European Symposium on Advances in Databases and Information Systems, held in Poland in September 1998. The 25 revised full papers and six extended abstracts are organized into topical sections which cover query languages, optimization, collaborative systems, schema integration, storage and version management, object systems, knowledge discovery and the Web, and systems design. The abstracts are in a special section entitled "East Meets West".

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 13th East European Conference on Advances in Databases and Information Systems, ADBIS 2009, held in Riga, Latvia, on September 7-10, 2009. The 25 revised papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 93 submissions. Topically, the papers span a wide spectrum of the database and information system. Topics are ranging from query processing and optimization via query languages, design methods, data integration, indexing and caching to business processes, data mining, and application oriented topics like XML and data on the Web.

This volume is the second one of the 16th East-European Conference on Advances in Databases and Information Systems (ADBIS 2012), held on September 18-21, 2012, in Poznań, Poland. The first one has been published in the LNCS series.  This volume includes 27 research contributions, selected out of 90. The contributions cover a wide spectrum of topics in the database and information systems field, including: database foundation and theory, data modeling and database design, business process modeling, query optimization in relational and object databases, materialized view selection algorithms, index data structures, distributed systems, system and data integration, semi-structured data and databases, semantic data management, information retrieval, data mining techniques, data stream processing, trust and reputation in the Internet, and social networks.
