Accelerating Strategic Changes for Digital Transformation in the Healthcare Industry discusses innovative conceptual frameworks, tools and solutions to tackle the challenges of mitigating major disruption caused by COVID-19 in the healthcare sector and society. It emphasizes global case studies and empirical studies, providing a comprehensive view of best lessons on digital tools to manage the health crisis. The book focuses on the role of advances in digital and collaborative technologies to offer rapid and effective tools for better health solutions for new and emerging health problems. Researchers, students, policymakers and members of the biomedical and medical fields will find this information invaluable.

Specially, it pays attention to how information technologies help us in the current global health emergency and the coronavirus epidemic response, gaining more understanding of the new coronavirus and helping to contain the outbreak. In addition, it explores how these new tools and digital health solutions can support the economic and social recovery in the post-pandemic world.

?Artificial intelligence, Big data, Blockchain and 5G for Digital Transformation of Healthcare Industry: A Movement Towards More Resilient and Inclusive Societies delivers a collection of relevant innovative research on digital healthcare, with a three mains goals: 1) study the successes and failures in the field of IT and digital health during the pandemic, and analyze the lessons from these cases; 2) discuss the latest advances in the field of digital healthcare, with a special focus on Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Blockchain and 5G; and 3) discuss implications for main stakeholders (patients, doctors, IT experts, directors, policy managers. The global outbreak caused by covid-19 caused global disruption in societies, healthcare systems, and economies around the world. This book provides insight to Researchers, clinicians, CEOs and policymakers who need to learn from the failures and successes and exploit the potential of advanced information technologies to build stronger healthcare systems, better quality healthcare services, and more resilient societies.

Vehicle Power Management addresses the challenge of improving vehicle fuel economy and reducing emissions without sacrificing vehicle performance, reliability and durability. It opens with the definition, objectives, and current research issues of vehicle power management, before moving on to a detailed introduction to the modeling of vehicle devices and components involved in the vehicle power management system, which has been proven to be the most cost-effective and efficient method for initial-phase vehicle research and design.

Specific vehicle power management algorithms and strategies, including the analytical approach, optimal control, intelligent system approaches and wavelet technology, are derived and analyzed for realistic applications. Vehicle Power Management also gives a detailed description of several key technologies in the design phases of hybrid electric vehicles containing battery management systems, component optimization, hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop.

Vehicle Power Management provides graduate and upper level undergraduate students, engineers, and researchers in both academia and the automotive industry, with a clear understanding of the concepts, methodologies, and prospects of vehicle power management.

Comprehensive single-volume reference work providing an overview of experimental results and predictive methods for hydraulic fracture growth in rocks

Mechanics of Hydraulic Fracturing: Experiment, Model, and Monitoring provides a summary of the research in mechanics of hydraulic fractures during the past two decades, plus new research trends to look for in the future. The book covers the contributions from theory, modeling, and experimentation, including the application of models to reservoir stimulation, mining preconditioning, and the formation of geological structures. The four expert editors emphasize the variety of diverse methods and tools in hydraulic fracturing and help the reader understand hydraulic fracture mechanics in complex geological situations.

To aid in reader comprehension, practical examples of new approaches and methods are presented throughout the book. Key topics covered in the book include:

Researchers and professionals working in the field of fluid-driven fracture growth will find immense value in this comprehensive reference on hydraulic fracturing mechanics.

An amphiphile is a molecule that contains a hydrophilic part and a hydrophobic part, linked by covalent bonding. Supramolecular amphiphiles (supra-amphiphiles) are amphiphiles linked by non-covalent interactions. As they employ non-covalent interactions, these species demonstrate adaptability and reversibility in conformational transformation, making them one of the most important emerging species in supramolecular chemistry. They have proven important in bridging the gap between molecular architecture and functional assembly. This book is written and edited by the current leaders in the topic and contains a foreword from Professor Jean-Marie Lehn, a father of the supramolecular chemistry field. Bringing together supramolecular chemistry and colloidal and interfacial science, the book provides a detailed and systematic introduction to supramolecular amphiphiles. Chapters explain how to employ non-covalent interactions to fabricate supra-amphiphiles. The book opens with an introduction to the history and development of the field, followed by chapters focussing on each type of interaction, including host-guest interaction, electrostatic interaction, charge-transfer interaction, hydrogen bonding and dynamic covalent bonds. This book will be a valuable resource for students new to this field and experienced researchers wanting to explore the wider context of their work.
