Dr. Ranbir Chander Sobti is Emeritus Professor at Punjab University, Chandigarh, and Honorary Scientist at the Indian National Science Academy. He started his career as a cytogeneticist and progressed to molecular biology and disease processes of cancer, COPD, AIDS, metabolic syndrome, and kidney diseases. His research spans genomic instability, epigenetic alterations, and cancer predisposition across multiple tumour types. He is a Fellow of the Third World Academy of Sciences, National Academy of Sciences India, Indian National Science Academy, National Academy of Medical Sciences, National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Canadian Academy of Cardiovascular Diseases Royal Society of biology and international Association of Cancer Research. Dr. Sobti has participated in several book projects, including Elsevier’s Advances in Animal Experimentation and Modeling; Biomarkers in Cancer Detection and Monitoring of Therapeutics; Molecular Medicine and Biomedical Research in the Era of Precision Medicine; One Planet, One Health, One Future; Probiotics; and Public and Environmental Health.Dr Aastha Sobti is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, University of Pittsburgh, where she works within the Mowery Laboratory on HPV-associated head and neck cancer. Her research focuses on the tumour immune microenvironment of HPV-positive head and neck squamous cell carcinoma and laryngeal papillomatosis, using spatial transcriptomics, single-cell RNA sequencing, and computational multi-omics. She previously worked as a Machine Learning Scientist at Alligator Bioscience in Sweden. She has co-edited volumes for Elsevier, including Biomarkers in Cancer Detection and Monitoring of Therapeutics (2023), Molecular Medicine and Biomedical Research in the Era of Precision Medicine (2025), and Advanced Technologies for Disease Intervention (2026). Dr. Jagmohan Singh holds a Ph.D. in Biotechnology and Cancer Genomics from Punjab University, Chandigarh, India. He is currently serving as an adjunct faculty in Anatomy and Physiology at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He has made significant contribution in Gastric Physiology and Pharmacology. His current research focus is on cancer immunotherapy and vaccine development against cancer recurrence. Dr. Singh's teaching and research experience has provided him with valuable insights into reviewing and editing scientific papers, review articles and book chapters, with diverse scientific aims. His research findings have been published in numerous internationally reputed journals. He has also made substantial contributions to cancer immunotherapy, including vaccine production, quality control, and clinical trials. As a multifaceted professional with a robust background in research, education, and administration, Dr. Singh’s contributions will be highly insightful to fulfilling the purpose of this book. Harpal S. Buttar, PhD, is Adjunct Professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Ottawa, Canada, and also serves as Visiting Professor at Guru Nanak Dev University, India, and Honorary Professor at Amity University, India. He previously worked for more than four decades as a Senior Research Scientist and Assessment Officer in the Therapeutic Products Directorate of Health Canada. His research and professional interests include pharmacology, nutrition, functional foods, dietary interventions, lifestyle approaches to the prevention of cardiovascular disease, obesity, and diabetes, and the safety of drug interactions with herbal products and fruit juices. Dr. Buttar has contributed extensively to biomedical research through scholarly publications, book chapters, and international collaborations. He has served on the editorial boards of scientific journals, acted as an external examiner for postgraduate research degrees, and delivered invited lectures and seminars internationally. He is a Fellow of the International College of Nutrition and the International Academy of Cardiovascular Sciences.
