    Beskrivning

This edited book provides novel, research-based perspectives on the conceptualization of action scenarios in multicultural education and in practice to shed light on the relationship between intercultural pedagogy, higher education, multilingual professionalism and ethical awareness on cultural issues and political and societal dilemmas. Derived from new cutting-edge research in intercultural education, pedagogy, socialization theories, as well as research on ethnic minorities and cultures, the book considers how students and professionals within the field of intercultural pedagogy obtain awareness through multimodal didactic learning processes of the psychological, sociological, ethical and practical dimensions of education focused on inclusion, social anchoring, and intercultural diversity. Written by twenty-four authors from Northern European multicultural settings, the book represents a unique collaboration between researchers, educators, and practitioners through contributions that discuss pedagogical, educational and professional trajectories based on case-based and practice-oriented learning – conceptualized as action scenarios – that ultimately aim to understand human encounters in teaching, pedagogy, social work. Providing new ontological and epistemological perspectives on the phenomenon action scenarios, this book will be of interest to scholars, researchers, and postgraduate students involved with multicultural education, higher education, and the sociology of education. Policy makers involved with intercultural pedagogy and communication in education will also find the volume of use.
