Barn och ungdomar i stadens olikheter handlar om barn och ungdomar från ett antal bostadsområden och kommuner i Stockholmsregionen, och villkoren för deras uppväxt, utbildning, fritid och hälsa. Det är en nödvändig bok för alla som arbetar för att barn och ungdomar ska få samma möjligheter och livschanser, men kanske särskilt för de som arbetar i strukturellt missgynnade områden som blivande och verksamma lärare och rektorer, men också politiker.

Boken Barn och ungdomar i stadens olikheter är resultatet av ett tvåårigt forskningsprojekt och den bygger på ett omfattande intervjumaterial,  från barn och ungdomar och deras föräldrar till representanter för olika institutioner, myndigheter och organisationer har fått komma till tals.

Barn och ungdomar i stadens olikheter är framsprungen ur ett unikt samarbete mellan Gålöstiftelsen och Stockholms universitet. Gålöstiftelsen är en av landets största stiftelser, inrättad på 1830-talet, med uppgift att stötta barn från mindre bemedlade familjer så att de kan uppnå sina drömmars mål.

Because the island of Taiwan spent the first half of the century as a colony of Japan and the second half in an umbilical relationship to China, its literature challenges basic assumptions about what constitutes a “national literature.” Several contributors directly address the methodological and epistemological issues involved in writing about “Taiwan literature.” Other contributors investigate the cultural and political grounds from which specific genres and literary movements emerged. Still others explore themes of history and memory in Taiwan literature and tropes of space and geography, looking at representations of boundaries as well as the boundary-crossing global flows of commodities and capital.
