This book focuses on the closely interlinked areas of refugee migration and health. It discusses the main challenges of the recent unprecedented, extremely diverse and mostly unregulated refugee migration wave for Germany and Europe, and offers a broader view of refugee health from a European perspective. Health issues can lead to several challenges for refugees as well as healthcare providers, and as such the book also examines the requirements for the management of migrant populations in terms of medical care and health system adaptations, and includes theoretical aspects of refugee migration and health as well as various perspectives on the latest developments. Lastly, it describes the healthcare system demands and responses for short- and long-term care of refugees.

The book provides a novel account of laws of nature via dispositions. Laws of nature play a paramount role in philosophy, science and everyday life. Understanding laws of nature is philosophically interesting on its own right but also many important notions belonging to philosophy of science, like causation, prediction and explanation, are intimately related to the laws of nature.

The book outlines the alleged characteristics of the laws of nature and introduces the main families of theories of laws of nature – neo-humean, ADT and dispositional theories. It then develops an account of dispositions the `triadic process picture of dispositions’ (TPD) and applies it to the debate about laws of nature. The relationship between God and time has been an object of inquiry in philosophical and theological traditions around the world for centuries. This volume takes up these and other questions, presenting a range of answers not only as brought forth in European philosophical traditions and in early Christianity, Judaism and Islam, but also positions taken by mediaeval Indian theologians and in the influential traditions of early Buddhism.

Die subjektiven Vorstellungen von Lernenden wurden bei der Gestaltung von Bildungsmaßnahmen im politisch-ökonomischen Bereich bislang kaum berücksichtigt. Dieses Buch gibt einen Einblick in die Denkweisen von Schülerinnen über die Globalisierung. Der Gegenstand Globalisierung ist aus didaktischer Perspektive besonders geeignet, verschiedene ökonomische und politische Lernfelder zusammenzuführen. Auf der Grundlage der empirischen Befunde werden Hinweise für die Gestaltung einer pluralistisch ausgerichteten sozioökonomischen Bildung gegeben, die in der Lage ist, die demokratische Handlungsfähigkeit der Schülerinnen zu stärken.

Dieses Buch gibt einen umfassenden Überblick über Potenziale und Herausforderungen von eHealth im deutschen Kontext. Aus interdisziplinärer Sicht werden zunächst die Grundlagen und Voraussetzungen dargestellt, wie z. B. technische Standards, rechtliche Rahmenbedingungen sowie Aspekte in Bezug auf Qualität und Finanzierung von eHealth-Anwendungen. 

Bei der Beschreibung wichtiger Anwendungsfelder wird neben allgemeinen eHealth-Anwendungen insbesondere auf die Telemedizin als einem zentralen Instrument von eHealth eingegangen. Dabei werden Anwendungsmöglichkeiten und Anforderungen an die Telemedizin aus unterschiedlichen fachlichen Disziplinen aufgezeigt. 

Einen weiteren Schwerpunkt bildet die onlinebasierte Gesundheitskommunikation, wobei das Internet im Mittelpunkt der Diskussion steht; dieses nimmt für die Bevölkerung einen immer höheren Stellenwert beim Erwerb von (gesundheitsbezogenen) Informationen ein.
