2008 tilldelades Regi Bergman Augustpriset. 10 år senare, och samma år som Ingmar Bergman skulle ha fyllt 100 år, kommer en nyutgåva av boken i ett mindre gigantiskt format.

Under de 60 år Ingmar Bergman var verksam som regissör och manusförfattare gjorde han närmare åttio spelfilmer och teveproduktioner. Han anses vara en av världens mest inflytelserika regissörer och många av hans filmer har blivit milstolpar i filmhistorien. Det här är den stora fotobiografin, sammanställd av Bengt Wanselius, som i 20 år arbetade som en av Bergmans egna stillbildsfotografer. Denna kolossala bok innehåller över ett tusen bilder som skildrar Bergmans liv och verk. Här finns inte enbart bilder från alla hans filmer utan också en lång rad unika fotografier från filminspelningar och privatliv. Texterna i boken bygger huvudsakligen på Ingmar Bergmans egna ord, med citat från dagböcker, brev, skrifter och böcker. Men här finns också nyskrivna texter av bland andra Erland Josephson, Birgitta Steene och Bengt Forslund.
