Den populära Utbildningsvetenskap för förskolan ges nu ut i en helt omarbetad version med flera nyskrivna kapitel. Den uppdaterade boken är ett fortsatt bidrag till att formulera förskolans egen kunskapsbas och möter behovet av pedagogisk fördjupning.

Boken följer förändringen av förskolan, från att vara en social och omsorgsinriktad verksamhet till att bli en del av utbildningssystemet. Den är indelad i tre större sektioner:

Utbildningsvetenskap för förskolan är främst avsedd för studerande på förskollärarutbildningen och för fortbildning av förskollärare. Den riktar sig även till förskolechefer.

Ett interkulturellt samspel mellan barn, pedagoger och föräldrar är en viktig del av förskolans vardag. Alltmer betonas vikten av ett interkulturellt arbete i förskolan. Men vad innebär ett interkulturellt förhållningssätt och hur påverkar det vardagen?

Med avstamp i förskolans uppdrag och i resonemang om bland annat kommunikativa processer, jämställdhet, traditioner, religion och tidsuppfattning diskuterar författarna de centrala delarna i ett interkulturellt förhållningssätt. Utifrån händelser i förskolans vardag och med stöd i forskning ges ett flertal handfasta råd och verktyg för att ett interkulturellt arbete ska fungera fullt ut och berika verksamheten.

Jonas Stier är professor i interkulturella studier vid Högskolan Dalarna och Malmö universitet. Han har lång erfarenhet av utbildningar för chefer och medarbetare inom områdena interkulturalitet, mångfald och ledarskap. Bim Riddersporre är universitetslektor i psykologi med utbildningsvetenskaplig inriktning, leg. psykolog, leg. logoped, och arbetar vid institutionen för Skolutveckling och ledarskap (SOL) vid Malmö universitet.
